The EPHS and members of the
Right Site Coalition are opposed to the demolition of a two block area of Echo Park by the Los Angeles school district.
The construction of a new school on s Site 9A would mean the largest loss of homes in the area since the Chavez Ravine neighborhood was destroyed. The EPHS
has opposed the project in light of a sharp drop of enrollment and nearby alternative sites. Most of the residents have
moved out of their homes under the threat of eminent domain. Click here to find out how you can help.

Flights of Fancy:
The Stairway Homes
of Echo Park
Sunday, Nov. 11
11 am - 4 pm
More than 300 people attended this year's home tour despite
the cool and cloudy weather. Proceeds from the event will go to support the EPHS' ongoing history and preservation programs.
Many thanks to the tour's sponsors and the more than 100 volunteers who helped stage the event.
